WT20 : Afghanistan Makes History By Qualifying For Super 10 Stage Of ICC World Twenty20
Afghanistan’s clean record means it will join former winner England, defending champion Sri Lanka, South Africa and ex-champion West Indies in Super 10 Group 1
Afghanistan has qualified for its maiden Super 10 stage of the ICC World Twenty20 in its third attempt after finishing unbeaten in Group B in Nagpur.
Afghanistan made its debut appearance in the West Indies in 2010, while it also featured in the 2014 tournament in Bangladesh. In both the previous two occasions, it was eliminated after the first round.
However, in the current event, it has earned the distinction of playing in the Super 10 stage after defeating Scotland by 14 runs, Hong Kong by six wickets and Zimbabwe by 59 runs on Saturday.
