Ryan Giggs’ to tell Jose Mourinho he wants OUT of Old Trafford
RYAN GIGGS jetted back into Manchester last night ready to tell United he wants out.
But new boss Jose Mourinho has cleared his diary to make a last ditch bid to persuade the club legend to stay.
United sources say they have still not given up hope of Giggs extending his 29 year spell at Old Trafford.
Mourinho will bring his trusted number two Rui Faria with him to Old Trafford — meaning Giggs will be demoted.
Yet the Special One has quickly rearranged his schedule after realising how much work needs to be done at his new club.
He has decided to pull out of his first appearance at Old Trafford since becoming Manchester United manager.
The Special one has opted not to take charge of an England team at Soccer Aid this weekend.
Mourinho wants to focus on his new role at United and recognises he has plenty to do after succeeding Louis van Gaal last week.
He will still take training for the charity event at Fulham today and tomorrow.
An England side that includes Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler and Phil Neville prepare to play Claudio Ranieri’s Rest of the World team at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday.
However, he is now expected to hand over responsibility for matchday to Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce who was due to be his assistant for the day.
So instead he will spend the weekend working on his United planning and one of his top priorities is likely to be Giggs’ future.
United have let their new manager make his own mind up over the match which is in aid of Unicef.
But Mourinho knows all the focus will be on his presence in the home dugout at Old Trafford for the first time and fears it would overshadow the game.
