Red Hot Team of the Week : Bidvest Wits make it three out of three
Bidvest Wits maintained their 100% start to the season with a 3-0 win over Cape Town City in the first leg of the MTN8 semi final in Johannesburg at Milpark stadium.
The win was the third in a row for Gavin Hunt charges who are currently enjoying their 2016/2017 season.
Their first two games were against Soweto Giants in Kaizer Chiefs whom they beat 2-1 at home and four days later the Students faced Orlando Pirates in the quarter finals of the MTN8.
They went on to win 2-1 and progressed to the two legged semis of the prestigious tournament.
The club has made some good and quality signing this year.
Gabadinho Mhango seems to have gained his form and is a marvel to watch since arriving from Bloemfontein Celtics.
They have a strong solid defense led by Bafana captain in Thulani Hlatshwayo alongside Sfiso Hlanti, Nazeer Allie.
Their midfield is packed with good players who can make things happen and the likes of Elias Pelembe and Daine Klate are proving too much in their wing attack.
Xola Mlambo who was absent this week due to suspension is proving his worth to Gavin Hunt who showed his belief in the player by snatching him from Chippa United.
Thabang Monare from Cosmos seems to be adapting well at the club and is enjoying his stay at the Students after signing from relegated Jomo Cosmos.
The return of former club player Sifiso Myeni is evident that the club would like to go for every title this season.
Upfront they are boost by the likes of Eleazer Rogers and Cuthbeth Malatjila who can score at any given time.
Moeneeb Josephs is the clubs number one goalkeeper but the signing of Darren Keet will give the club much more needed competition and depts for the number one position.
Behind the club well doing is a brilliant coach in Gavin Hunt who has won every trophy on offer in the PSL apart from the MTN 8 and Telkom Cup
He has since shown his capabilities since taking over the hot seat at Wits from a successful stint with SuperSport United.
We salute Bidvest Wits for their 100% performance rate this season.
Will they maintain their momentum ?
