PSL : Serero could partner Khama at Downs once again

Out of favour midfielder, Thulani Serero of Ajax Amsterdam who is currently struggling with game time in Netherlands could return home in South Africa.


The Bafana midfielder could make it back to South Africa to resurrect his ailing career.

Serero could be added to an array of superstars that have joined Mamelodi Sundowns in the likes of Sibusiso Vilakazi and Thapelo Morena.

Serero is close to joining his former team mates in Kegan Dolly and Khama Billiat at Chlorokop

The former Ajax Cape Town players who joined the mother team Ajax Amsterdam in 2011 after being crowned PSL player of the year and scooping 6 awards in a year he was at his best.

The transfer was rumored to be around R 20 million with his amateur club Senaone Gunners pocketing about R 2 million of the transfer fee.

Mamelodi Sundowns are said to be monitoring the situation and could lend the talented midfielder who was once on the wanted list of the likes of Fulham in England when he was at his best.

The departure of Frank De Boer made things worse for the midfielder as he hasn’t seen much action under new manager Peter Bosz.

The players wasn’t part of the team that faced Rostov of Russia in their Uefa Champions League playoff qualifiers in which the club drew 1-1 this week.

Should Sundowns snatch “Cream” as he is known the player will team up with Khama Billiat whom he played alongside at Ajax Cape Town and they both complimented each other well.

Their partnership was said to be the best that Ajax Cape Town has seen and Khama is said to be the one who brought the best out of Serero.

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane, who coached Serero at National Team level has always expressed that Thulani is an incredible player and admires the player’s style of play.

The player has three titles with the Dutch club and has faced some of the best clubs in Europe when he was still part of the club plans.

He played faced Barcelona of Spain in a Uefa encounter and pulled one of the best performance on that day.

Will Mamelodi Sundowns break the bank and lure Serero to join the Tshwane outfit as he still has a year left in his contract with the Dutch outfit?
