PSL : Kwanda Mngonyama joins Maritzburg United on a permanent deal

Maritzburg United have signed Kwanda Mngonyama on a permanent deal from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Kwanda Mngonyama wanted regular game time more than anything this season.

He was played over 50 PSL games, the 22 year old South African international is one of the best centre-backs in the country at the moment.

The centre-back has been loaned out by Downs for the past three seasons‚ to Bidvest Wits in 2013-14‚ and Maritzburg United for the past two campaigns

The 22-year-old defender played for Premier Soccer League club Maritzburg United on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns last season

Mngonyama was out of favor at Chloorkop and will now return to the club he helped survive relegation at the end of last season on a three-year contract.

The PSL confirms the deal has gone through before the midnight deadline.


Mngonyama formed part of the list of players that Martizburg United released at the end of the season

Mngonyama made 24 appearances for Maritzburg in the Absa Premiership last season, as he helped the club escape relegation.
Mngonyama will join other new Maritzburg signings like Bevan Fransman, Bryce Moon, and Luyanda Ntshangase amongst others.
