PSL : Ajax Cape Town not yet out of CAF Competition
Ajax Cape Town meeting with SAFA about pulling out of CAF Competition
Last it Ajax Cape Town issued a statement that they will be be taking part in the Africa continent intercclub competition CAF Confederation Cup.
This was due to that fact the club said that it couldn’t guarantee the safety of their player as they had to travel 1200 Kilometers to Luada. Which would take them 18 hours.
The arrangement contravenes the CAF rules as the rules clearly states that a team should only travel 200Km.
Only federations can pull their associates i.e. Clubs out of the CAF competitions.
Its believed that Ajax Cape Town have met with SAFA to deliberate on the issue and plot the way forward.
If Ajax Cape Town go ahead and pull out they could face a fine and a ban of two years or more.
SAFA got four spots after heroic displays but Orlando Pirates reaching the CAF Africa Champions League final.
Although they lost to Al Ahly it was enough to guarantee that SAFA gets four slots.
