PSL : Abbubaker Mobara and Tashreeq Morris set for Amsterdam trial
The Ajax Cape Town pair of Abbubaker Mobara and Tashreeq Morris have the potential opportunity to further their respective careers in Europe, provided they can impress Mother club Ajax Amsterdam sufficiently.
The date has not be announced yet, but the news has been confirmed via the club’s official Twitter account:
“We can confirm that Abbubaker Mobara and Tashreeq Morris will be undergoing a week trial with @AFCAjax.”
Mobara, 22, is already in his fourth season in the PSL, and has in the past been called up for the senior national team. The versatile player can fulfill several roles in defence and in midfield.
Morris, 21, is in his third season for the club, and was Ajax’s leading goal-scorer last season. He has however only fairly recently returned from a long-term injury sustained in last season’s Nedbank Cup final.
The Urban Warriors have in the past provided players such as Stephen Pienaar, Eyong Enoh and Thulani Serero to their Dutch counter-parts, 33 times Eredivisie champions.
Ajax are next in action on April 13, when they play Platinum Stars in the league.
