NFD : Baroka FC hanging on to position one by a point

The 2015/2016 NFD season is coming to close with all teams having only five games to play and Baroka FC leading the logo by only a point, with Highlands Parks on the heels.

The race for automatic promotion as well as for play-off spots is extremely tight.Baroka FC could have themselves to blame if they fail to gain automatic promotion for the 2015/2016 NFD season as they have led the log the entire season.

With 15 points to play for anything can happen

The famous words of their coach ” Catch us if you can” seems to have being heard loud and clear as their league has being reduced to one point.

Baroka FC are leaving on borrowed time as previous Mbombela united and Witbank Spurs failed to capitalize when they lost their game, they same thing happened this past weekend as Highlands Park failed to beat Moroka Swallows while Vasco Da Gama was hammering Baroka in Cape Town.

Currently, the top log standing at the show that just six points separate the Baroka FC and Milano United, as follows:

Baroka FC (50 points), Highlands Park (49), Royal Eagles (45), Witbank Spurs (45), Mbombela United (44), Milano United (44).

The six teams are fighting for automatic promotion and if they fail then playoff spot will be acceptable, any loses or draw could proof be a knock in their fight for PSL spot.

Baroka FC are always involved in the Nedbank Cup and they will lock horns with Polokwane City in a Limpopo Derby.

Could this be a distraction for them in their quest to gain automatic promotion or can they handle both and be successful?

Down at the bottom, Moroka Swallows still have a fighting chance of survival, and only 11 points separate them from FC Cape Town.

FC Cape Town (28), Vasco Da Gama (26), Santos (25), Thanda Royal Zulu FC(25), Mthatha Bucks (22), African Warriors (18), Moroka Swallows (17)

African Warriors have found their form of late while Moroka Swallows are beginning to collect points.

The two teams could turn out to be king makers in the title race.

The last five games for the bottom and top of the log will be all six pointers.
