The Tembisa born youngster Thabang Ximba who is part of the Ke yona team that will be facing Supersport United on Sunday says he will do his best to ensure that Tembisans are proud of him.

Ximba said this during the build-up media which was hosted at Nedbank headquarters in Sandton on Tuesday. The Ke Yona team will lock horns with Supersport united at Makhulong stadium in Tembisa on Sunday.

Ximba said he is humbled by the fact that he will playing at home and all of his folks will be coming to watch him playing against the well-established players. He says his dream is to play for one of the biggest teams in South Africa so that he will have an active muscle that will allow him to support his family.

“I want to be able to support my family”

“Many people are now looking at me at home since I will be the first one to play for the biggest team if I happen to impress the coaches” said the Ekurhuleni West College student.”

Ximba stands a chance of being part of young players whom Nedbank provided with an arena to exhibit to the nation what their tank of talents has. Amongst these names are players such as Aubrey “Postman” Modiba, Ian Chikowa and Bongani Mbuli.

All the 18 players have been drafted for a month with the 16 PSL team contract, Only Supersport and Orlando Pirates are the only teams which had the privileged to pick two players as a reward for reaching the last year final. The Ke Yona Team players will have to show their respective PSL teams what they’ve got after the big day which is on Sunday.

Jovis as he is affectionately known in Tembisa has participated in the Annual tournament known as the Philly’s games playing for AmaBEE as a striker. However his love for soccer began way back at Ecaleni primary school. He participated in many activities including singing in the school choir. However soccer has always stole more of his devotion.

The 22 years old young man is currently doing an office admin course and he believes one cannot only depend on soccer since it is a shot career. He looks up to the well-established local brands such as Themba “Mshishi” Zwane and Jerry Sikhosana, the legendary

“More and more players from Tembisa are now showing the world that Tembisa have some good talent and I want to be one of those people” concluded the patriotic Ximba.

Nedbank has been giving away tickets free of charge and fans are urged to head to their nearest Computicket and Shoprite /Checkers. Fans only need to produce their South African identity document to the stores that have been communicated to claim tickets, which are limited to two tickets per individual.
