Nedbank : Tendai Ndoro Man of the Match and reaction
Tendai Ndoro says the feeling of scoring two goals in his first Soweto Derby start is something that will stay with him for his whole life.
The Orlando Pirates striker brace buried Kaizer Chiefs to lead his team to the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup.
Ndoro has featured much for Pirates since arriving from Mpumalanga Black Aces, he was always behind Erasmus, Gabuza and Majoro, admits Chiefs had their chances, but was delighted with their win.
“It was a game of two halves,” he told SuperSport after the match. “Kaizer Chiefs attacked us first half but didn’t use their chances. In the second half … we wanted one goal, we got it and that boosted us, and then we got another one.”
Ndoro added: “My first start in the Derby and I managed two goals – it’s something that will always be there in my life. I want to continue doing it; not only for Derbies, but for all games.”
Ndoro’s first goal was a beautiful turn and finish from Mpho Makola’s clever pass, while the second was a long-range screamer that slipped through Brilliant Khuzwayo’s hands.
Asked to choose which was his favourite, Ndoro had no hesitation: “The first one … two touches, control, finish. I’d say that was the best one for the day.
