MTN 8: 1st Semi Final Leg Wrap up
Bidvest Wits moved one step closer to reaching the 201/2017 MTN8 final after registering a win over Cape Town City in the 1st leg at Milpark Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday evening.
Goals from Eleazer Rogers, Elias Pelembe and Gabadinho Mhango were enough to hand the Students an advantage going to Cape Town for the 2nd leg.

Chippa United hosted Mamelodi Sundowns in the other semi final encounter
The Eastern Cape based club played to a goalless draw against a formidable dangerous Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday afternoon.
It was a game of two halves with Downs enjoying possession and showing hunger to score but Chippas defense prevented Downs from scoring.
Downs clearly were missing Leonardo Castro who is injured.
Chippa United came into the second half and searched for goals but Ka Bo Yellow goalkeeper Denis Onyango put a brave performance to deny the Chilli Boys another win.
Chippa are in the driving sit going into the second leg in Pretoria.
They didn’t consider at home and a 1-1 all draw or a win will see the club reach their first final since being in the PSL.
With the quality of display that both clubs showed South African fans, the second leg will be a massive encounter as both club coaches have been doing extremely well for their respective clubs.
Both coaches are former Mamelodi Sundowns and they have instilled the carpet football mentality into their players.
