Mphahlele doubtful for TKO Final |
Mamelodi Sundowns captain, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, limped into training on Wednesday after sustaining an injury on Tuesday and pulled out of training. He sustained a quad injury and limped off the field for medical attention. The injury is not serious and the Downs medical team are doing their best to get him ready for the up coming final.
The former Moroka Swallows defender could be a big blow should he not be ready for the TKO clash in Durban next week. The player has been instrumental this year and the team captain has been leading the Downs ship to the right direction along with the club technical team since been handed the captaincy after the departure of Alje Schut.
‘Rama’s contract with the Brazilians is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, which means that he will be in a position to negotiate terms with other interested parties when he enters into the final six months of his contract in January. The club has made their intention clear that they want to keep the defender and have tabled an offer for the player. He looks set to agree on terms for a new deal with Masandawane.
