Light training for Itu |
Kaizer Chiefs number 1 goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune is back in training and has started light training with the club. The first choice Amakhosi goal minder has been out of action since a knee injury and missed out on Bafana action for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Angola. The player went into surgery and the operation was a success. He is under rehabilitation and has started jogging and looks set to come back in the new year.
He looks set to miss the TKO Cup final against Mamelodi Sundowns next week Wednesday in Durban for the showdown. Brilliant Khuzwayo has since filled in the number 1 position in Khune’s absence and doing a good job including the match against Orlando Pirates in the TKO semi final where he was brilliant on match day.
Reyaad Pieterse has been offered a lucrative 3 year deal by the club and is expected to sign after he turned the club previous offer. The contract will keep him at the club till 2019 if he puts pen to paper. He has been back up to both Khune and Khuzwayo and didn’t disappoint every time he came into the picture. He expressed his desire to play overseas should the opportunity arise.
