Late goal for Bafana level matters


A late goal by Bongani Zungu on the dying minutes of Match, levelled matters between South Africa and Nigeria to a 1 all draw at Mbombela stadium.

Bafana Bafana who started the game on the front foot, when Bongane Zungu’s shot from just inside the box is tipped over by debutant Akpeyi following good work down the right by Bafana skipper Hlatshwayo.

Bafana kept Nigeria on theirs toes, they kept probing most part of the match. Tokelo Rantie came close on finding the back of the net but his shot was blocked in the box by Balogun after Zungu laid a neat pass to him.

Second half resumed with high anticipation, Bafana were awarded a penalty on the 61st minute when Thulani Serero was brought down under a challenge from Oboabona in the box.

Andile Jali stood up to take the penalty but his attempt was saved by Akpeyi, Bafana failed to take a lead.

On the 85th minute of the game, Nigeria took a lead through Musa when he scored a stunning goal that was placed on the far corner and Khune was superbly beaten.

Bongani Zungu pulled one back, when slotted a most important goal for Bafana Bafana on the 93rd minute to level matters with Nigeria.
