GERNOT ROHR QUITS AS BURKINA FASO COACH
Burkina Faso head coach Gernot Rohr took to Facebook on Monday to announce that he would be stepping down from his position in January.
The German tactician decided to resign ‘for professional and personal reasons’, after having led the Stallions to the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers following a 3-2 aggregate win over Benin last November.
The former Gabon and Niger coach, who had been appointed at the helm of the Stallions last February, is set to take up a new role as a football ambassador for the German football association.
Burkina Faso will be looking to hire a new manager early next year, as they will be facing Uganda in a crucial double tie in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March
