Cavin Jonhson congratulates Chippa United
They managed to get to their normal play, possession football that makes things difficult for the home side to contain them, hence we saw a mistake at the back by Isaac Nhlapo and former Platinum Stars player Rhulani Manzini capitalized on that mistake and gave his side a lead.
That goal left Cavin Johnson furious at the bench and the Chillie boys kept knocking at Platinum Stars goal post, seeking a second goal but went to half time the away team (Chippa United) leading 0-1 to Platinum Stars,as we saw Henrico Botes going out. Second half we saw Platinum Stars brought in Kobamelo kodisang for Thamsaqa Gwabeni as well as Sipho Senne debutant , with that substitution Cavin Johnson was trying to bolster his attacks searching for an equalizer.
Dan Malesela and his side came strong than the first half to get a second goal for them was mission and it was accomplished after he brought in Menzi Masuku and Lerato Manzini for Rhulani Manzini and Buyani Sali. The introduction of pair saw Chillie boys creating brilliant runs that combined the sensational Thembinkosi Lorch and Menzi scored second goal for Chippa United, after that goal the Chilli boys were all over the show, as Platinum Stars struggled to contain them until referee Mario Gomes rescued them as blowing the whistle, Chippa United still had ball in their possession.
Cavin Congratulate Chippa United “First, let me congratulate Chippa they are through to the final and this cup is one of the quickest to be at the final, just two games then your in as Platinum Stars it’s been two years now struggling to do well on. I think about this game today, the minute they score that goal the boys lost concentration and lost balls in areas where we shouldn’t as we were all over chasing the ball. We then started to get an equalizer, playing three at the back but they got a chance and scored a second goal. They then tried to press but we held the ball at our half instead of going forward. Losing Botes, yes costed us, because he gives a bite upfront; his fighting ability would have made an impact in our attack. We therefore brought in young boy Sipho Senne who made a good cross which we nearly got a goal from, though we lacked those crosses but nevertheless it’s football. It doesn’t mean you beat Supersport United then you can beat Chippa United, they are professionals and we are professionals, had to go all out fighting for a win and they won today., congratulations to them” says Cavin Johnson
