Rio2016 : Banyana Banyana hold Brazil

Banyana Banyana played to a goalless draw against favorites Brazil in their last game at the Rio Olympics.

B VS BThe team will return to the country with a point after losing their first two games which meant their exit from the second most competitive games.

The girls have their all and played good football and the keeper had stunning saves towards the end of the game that would have seen Brazil win the game.

She denied the hosts point blank chances and frustrated the likes of Marta and Fabiana who are one of the top players in the world.

Team captain Janine van Wyk pulled up beautiful tackles that prevented the Brazilians goal scoring opportunities. Amanda Dlamini and Mpumi Nyandeni stabilized the middle quite well and played according to the coach’s instructions.

Banyana coach Vera Pauw, stated that the girls played quite well and she is happy with the draw but disappointed that they have exited the Olympics.

Brazil had already qualified after registering two wins and a draw saw them finish the group as winners to progress to the elimination stages of the tournament
