The Oranges or Nothing are under 19 Annual Luka Easter Games 2018 Champs
The Annual Luka Easter Games 2018 presented best of the best tourney in Rustenburg on Saturday (30 March 2018) were fans and supporters entertained by sterling performance and good display of football by clubs.
First game of the tournament was Solsville Tigers fc vs Rustenburg Athletico fc under 19 sides, both sides started like house on fire.
Solsville tigers fc’s captain Kingsley Mojelo was marvel to watch, lead by example on the pitch dictating terms but his side find it tough to crack Athletico’s defence.
However both clubs displayed good football and the game gained momentum in the second half which saw Rustenburg Athletico fc (The oranges or nothing) as Athletico known took the lead through Kopano Molebatsi and Lethabo Modimoeng which booked their side to the final in a 2-0 win.
Solsville tigers knocked out to face Robega All Stars fc in a round-robin system in what we call second chance for them to play in the final if they win, It was eat or be eaten for them against Robega.
It was well balanced game by both teams and well oiled machine Solsville tigers fc were playing like wounded tigers and edged Robega All Stars fc out 4-2 in a penalty shoot out after playing 1-1 in 90 minutes.
It was now round two battle between Rustenburg Athletico fc against Solsville Tigers fc in the final, both teams were more disciplined in both attack and defence as no one wanted to commit early as tigers came with different starting xi to keep Athletico at bay but that wasnt enough as “The Orange or Nothing” pressing them more on second half and pressure was mounting on to Tigers players and coaches as they didnt want second defeat from same team knocked them out in first game.
Character and determination was shown by Rustenburg Athletic fc over Solsville tigers fc in a thrilling game which saw Tigers losing 4-3 and Rustenburg Athletico fc under 19 were crowned 2018 Annual Luka Easter Games after sterling performance.
“We lost to a good team and i am happy about my boys performance in all games, we played as unity and yes we had our changes but failed to convert..
Congratulations to Rustenburg Athletico fc” says Solsville Tigers fc coach Lebogang Mosime.
“We came to this tournament to compete and do well, both games my boys were giving their opponents too much space to attack but we have to show character and do it for our fans.
All game were not that easy, playing one twice was huge task for us and very challenging but at the end we emerged as Champs.
