Rustenburg Platinum Mine celebrating more than 10 years in existence
Rustenburg based Netball team, Rustenburg Platinum Mine better known a RPM, was established 10 years ago by a group of ladies in the mining Sector and still to date it’s going strong.
In woman’s month, RPM are a perfect example of what women in sport can achieve and have achieved.
RPM has proved that women can multitask as this phenomenal women are both career and sport women
Most of these women grew up together at the club and became sisters on and off the field.
On it’s 10th years of existence, RPM produced few quality players and they even went as far as representing Northwest Province to the Netball South Africa National Championship.
Name of the few players who held Northwest’s Flag high at national levels are Gomolemo Lehihi, Keorapetswe Moraope, as well as the Senior coach Itumeleng Adams and under 21 team manager Olivia Basson.
“Previous year (2015), Keorapetswe and Itu(Adams) again represented the Province in NSA Spar National Championship alongside Tshiamo Mokoka and physiotherapist Tumi Molobi.” added Lebo Mabeko,utility player and club administrator
Senior Welfare Recreational Sports in Anglo American Mr Sydney Nare, is the man behind in giving Support.
He as well plays a pivotal role as a guardian.
“Am doing my best in making sure that this team get much needed support they may require, simply because these players are committed and determined in what they doing, playing.”
” These women are not only net-balling people, we talking about wives and mothers who are so passionate and also punctual when comes to training sessions.”
” It hasn’t been easy way to be where the team is today but through team work we managed collectively.” Concludes Mr Nare
