Renowned Sports Lawyer

Bertie Grobbelaar an International renowned sports lawyer and former amateur rugby and schools coach, who coach the likes of Impala rugby club and schools such as Grenswag Secondary and Rustenburg High  in Northwest province also served as Exco member and director at Leopards Rugby club.

Former Hentie Ceilliers High student same school that produced the likes of Cecil Afrika and Branco Du Pree, his love of rugby and coached was influence by then former Springbok coach John Williams who was Potch University rugby first team coach were Bertie Grobbelaar was playing and while still playing for A team, he then went to coach C side under guidance of John Williams.

As Sports lawyer(Bertie Grobbelaar) he represented amateur and professional players, coaches and sports officials from various sporting codes.

“As a Director of Van Velden Duffey Attorney (Vvd), we are currently representing Andre Watson in his labour dispute with South African Rugby Union (SARU). He was dismissed and through labour court reinstated, SARU now took the matter to the appeal court and we are now waiting for date of court for their appeal” says Bertie

With his vast experience gained in Sports both on and off field, Grobbelar he is assisting renowned coaches in setting up coaching and management structures around the globe, late last year (2017) he was in Sao Miguel(Lisbon), Portugal and soon China will be his next destination in assisting renowned coaches.

Bertie  still offers legal assistance to local sports schools provincially (Northwest) and believes that “Passion, determination and commitment in sports can make huge difference in building best sportsmen and women world wide”
