PSL : #WozaNazo Its Cape Town Derby time
Ajax Cape Town will host Cape Town City in the much awaited PSL Cape Town derby at Cape Town Stadium on the 30 September at 15:00 pm.
Ajax Cape Town is expected to pick up the pieces as they face the 1-year-old club in Cape Town City. They have come second fiddle to the new boys and will want to win it for their fans who want bragging rights. The club players are motivated and looking forward to the encounter expressed team captain Lebusa who participated in last year’s two encounters.
Cape Town City comes into the game with much more confidence after enjoying the start of the 2017/2018 season and are also through to the final of domestic MTN8 club competition. The Citizens as the club is affectionally known also come into the game with confidence after winning last seasons two encounters against their city rivals. City’s captain Robin Johannes expressed that they have been working hard at training and the players know what’s at stake.
Both club chairmen stated that the match will divide Cape Town in half when the two PSL teams clash for the 3 points at stake. “It’s not only the 3 points at stake but bragging rights too expressed former Ajax boss and now City owner John Comitis who purchased Mpumalanga Black Aces and relocated the club to Cape Town last year.
The Citizens head coach Benni McCarthy expressed that they will go out to Cape Town Stadium to win the game and continue their fine form over Ajax.
