It was a game of two halves with Sundowns trio of Karma Biliat, Kegan Dolly and Leonardo Castro terrorizing the Pirates defense with their great short passes and off the ball running.

‘CBD’ as the trio is termed have being in great form and their combination has seen Sundowns score goals and win games with easy.

The game looked balanced for the first 15 minutes with both teams trying to control the middle of the park, Orlando Pirates missed two great chances.

On the 19th minute Leonardo Castro started and finished great move after superb interplay between himself, Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat. The move seemed like a hot knife cutting through butter Castro won the ball in the middle of the park and calmly finished with a low shot to the far right of Mhlongo.

37th minutes the trio were at it again Castro fed Dolly outside the box, he played a one-two with Billiat before his shot was parried by Brighton Mhlongo, but the ball fell kindly for Billiat who volleyed in off the left-hand post then right post before it rolled in.

Bafana ba style should have being leading with three or four goals going into the half time but leak of composure let them down.

In the second half Orlando Pirates made a change taking out Mugwera who didn’t have a great game and send in Masuku.

That change seemed to inspire the Buccaneers as they started pinning Bafana ba style in their half and keeping position of the ball.

Sundowns sat back to protect their lead for most of the second half and they played on the counter.

The pressure paid off on the 71st minute when Mpho Makola scored a beautiful free kick from 35 yards, the goal is a possible contender of the goal of the season so far.

Mpho Makola direct free-kick from 35 yards out, gave Denis Onyango no chance  as it the underside of the crossbar and Orlando Stadium came to life.

That goal gave Orlando Pirates more hope to push for a second goal but the Buccaneers could not find another goal despite a late rally.
