PSL : Students out to teach Citizens an early lesson

Current PSL Champions Bidvest Wits open the title defence against Cape Town City in the 2017/2018 ABSA Premiership encounter at Milpark Stadium in Johannesburg tonight.

The club will want to start their title defense with a win and continue with their good run.

The Students are looking to find the right combination as they had a scare situation last week at the hands of Golden Arrows who led 2-0 before sleeping and forcing the Braamfontein based club to equalize and end up winning the match in a penalty shootout.

Bidvest Wits will be without their head coach Gavin Hunt who suffered a red card in their MTN8 quarter final encounter along with Golden Arrows team coach Clinton Larsen.

The Students have assembled a quality team that includes former Europe duo Dylan Claasen and former Bafana Bafana captain Steven Pienaar.

Both stars signed for Wits in the current transfer window and both stars were given their ABSA Premiership return debuts last week.

Soweto born Thulani Hlatshwayo who is the team captain expressed that they have had a good pre season and that they are gelling quite well with new players who have joined the club.

He furthermore states that “The mistakes done last week have been rectified and will not disappoint their home fans”
