PSL Promotion Playoff: Rumble in the Jungle
Highlands will be looking to confirm their top-flight status when they take on Mbombela United on their home turf this Wednesday at 3pm.
Mbombela United need nothing short of three point in what is termed “Do or Die” by many football followers.
Highlands Park has collected the maximum six point from two game, beating both Mbombela United 1 -3 away and University of Pretoria 1- 0 at home.
A win for Highlands Park will ensure them a PSL spot but the team is not getting carried away.
Highlands Park will host Mbombela United for the third match of the PSL Promotion Playoffs.
The two teams have played three times with their league games ending in draws of 0-0 and 2-2.
Highlands Park got the better of Mbombela United when they disposed them 1-3 in the opening game of the PSL Promotion Playoff in KaNyamazane Stadium.
Highlands Park has played 18 matches at Makhulong Stadium and only losing twice, one in the league against Moroka Swallows and in the Nedbank cup against Mamelodi Sundowns
Highlands Park finished second on the log behind Baroka FC and they have shown hunger to get promotion through out the playoffs
Highlands Park has the most stubborn defense only conceding only 18 goals in the entire campaign of 2015/16 season
After disposing Amatuks over the weekend the coach Allan Freeze still maintained that its still far from over as they have two games to go and the time needs to be focused.
Highlands Park will be without the services of Rae Ryan who picked up an injury against Amatuks that forced him to be substituted.
In his place comes Koena Kgomotso and crowd favourite Simphiwe Tshabalala.
The club director Sinky Mnisi has once again called on the Ekurhuleni Residents to come in their numbers to support the team.
“No teams comes into our back yard and comes out alive”, said Mnisi
Tickets will be sold at the stadium for R 10-00
