PSL Playoffs : Playoff Kicks off today, Stellenbosch FC vs Baroka FC

The battle for the last spot in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) kicks off today, with Promotional playoffs.

The Promotion Play-off matches will kick-off on Wednesday, when Stellenbosch FC (NFD 3rd place) welcome Baroka FC (Premier Division 15th place) to Athlone Stadium.

This will be Baroka FC lifeline after they failed on several occasions to take advantage of chances they had to crawl out of the relegation zone.

Gama made a bold switch to relocate to Stellenbosch in 2016 and was named Stellenbosch Football Club (Stellenbosch FC).

Stellenbosch FC is coached by Sammy Troughton  assisted by experienced tactician Steve Barker

Barker successfully guided University of Pretoria out of the NFD and into the top-flight when they famously won promotion in 2012. Barker has also coached KZN outfit AmaZulu FC.

Baroka played beautiful and exciting football towards the end of the season and they will be looking to carry that form plus spirit into this encounter. Baroka FC closed off their PSL campaign  with a 0-1 win away to Ajax Cape Town

Baroka will be without their trusted midfielder Letladi Madubanya

Madubanya scored the only goal in their last game. The goal-scorer sent off in the second-half

Baroka stiker Matlakala has been wasteful in front of goals and he will have to be clinical if their have an ambitions of winning against Stellenbosch FC

Both sides will be looking to secure the first three points of the mini league to put themselves in pole position
