PSL : Player Clearance Sale at Free State Stars
The big clearance sale sign is up at Free State Stars and many teams are rushing to pick up players
Free State Stars’ management met with their players yesterday to discuss the sale of the club to Moroka Swallows.
Mabaleng Sports Center has heard from a reliable source that the deal is approved by the PSL but it’s only a matter of time before an official announcement is made.
Stars met their players to inform them of what lies ahead for the club and the playing personnel once the takeover has been completed.
Mabaleng Sports Center that only eight players currently contracted to the club will be made available to Moroka Swallows
Free State Stars have opened a huge Clearance Sale of players on the first come first serve basis
It’s believed that this move is aimed at making sure that both teams are not taken to the Court over unhonoured contracts and to avoid leaving players hanging
Orlando Pirates have benefited greatly from the clearance sale with them picking up three players instantly
Ayanda Nkosi, Justice Chabalala and Sello Japhta all headed for Parktown outfit
Another player who is heading to Johannesburg is Reabetswe Rakoti who looks set to be heading to Bidvest Wits
It is also apparent that the club aims to cash in on several players, such as Daouda Diakite, Robert Sankara, Sydney Masana, David Nkausu, Hendrik Somaeb, Angula Da Costa, Themba Tshabalala and S’thembiso Ngcobo
Free State Stars are not new to selling their status, when the PSL wanted to cut teams from 18 to 16 its was them and Ria Stars who walked away with R 8 Million each
The current deal with Moroka Swallows is believed to be in the region of R 50 Million , including player sales Mr Mokoena could be smiling all the way to the bank with anything close to R 90 Million
