PSL : Orlando Pirates still struggling to find combination
Orlando Pirates is one of the most reputable team in the African continent, but they still find hard to spit fire in the domestic league.
The Sea Robbers went all the way to the CAF confederation cup, playing fascinating football with flair, skills, passion and goals.
The buccaneers have left a trail of broken hearts beating the like of Al Ahly, Zamalek, CS Sfaxien and Espérance.
However the Iron Duke boys seem to be struggling in singing the same tune in domestic league.
It is evident that in each and every edition which Bucs find themselves in, it affects their domestic run and finds themselves swimming in the deeper part of pool.
After defeating Al Ahly ahead of their final with the Tunisian side, one would have expected pirates to come back home with spectacular performance.
The buccaneers troops are known to have players who are capable of peduading the ball to kiss the net from the defense to the strikers. There were times where strikers would consistently fail to do so. Defenders such as Siyabonga Sangweni and Lucky Lekgwathi would always raise their hands.
The striking force has also being shooting blanks. The likes of Erasmus, Gabuza and Majoro interchange each other in their striking duties with the Motupa playing as a number 10 at time.
Ndoro, Thabo Qalinge and Masilesa haven’t seen much game time.
The kazi flavour skills of Rakhale, Makola, Myeni and Masuku has somehow disappeared.
Currently it seems as Tinkler tank of ideas is running dry. He has used all his defenders as well as the goalkeepers, but the ship is still sinking. Goals are conceded instead of being scored
Some Supporters have questioned the selection criteria saying it appears that some Players own position while others have to fight for the reminders.
“Nyauza played well before the sundowns game but he was dropped for Jele why”
“Before that Phungwanyo played well when Matlaba was injured but when he recovered he walked right into the starting 11” said one Supporter
With 11 games already played when will Orlando Pirates find their back four combination and as well as a well oiled striking force?
Where will answers come from, Will players pull up their socks, will the new combination work?
Is this players power against Tinkler ?
Let’s see if next game will be end of Tinkler at Orlando Pirates or the rise of Tinkler at the buccaneers
