PSL : Moroka Swallows could be back in PSL
Moroka Swallows could be back in the PSL by the end of the week
Mr. Lesufi of Moroka Swallows and Mr. Mokoena of Free State Stars were spotted at the PSL offices today.
It is rumored that the new owners of Moroka Swallows have reached an agreement with the owners of Free State Stars and the deal is only subjected to approval by the PSL
Initially, Swallows’s consortium was in talks with Chippa United.
It’s believed that an agreement was reached with conditions that Swallows should maintain their NFD status and when that failed Chippa backed out.
Reports surfaced that the likes of Baroka FC, Polokwane City, Highlands Park and Maritzburg United were approached but nothing concrete came from it.
Now it’s believed that Moroka Swallows have caught a big fish in Free State Stars
The new consortium headed by Mr. Panyaza Lesufi has been hard at work trying to one of the oldest teams back to top flight football in South Africa.
Moroka Swallows were relegated from the PSL at the end of the 2014/2015 season.
Their campaign in the National First Division was not good as they were relegated at the end of 2015/16 season.
Mr Lesufi who is a die hard supporter of Moroka Swallows has indicated that the team would still campaign in the ABC Motsepe League to serve as their feeder team.
Free State Star have been very quiet in the transfer window.
The Bethlehem outfit only announced Denis Lavagne as their new coach after their previous coach Giovanni Solinas resigned at the end of the season
Should the deal go through this will be the second PSL to be sold this transfer window after Mpumalanga Aces where sold to John Comitis and are now called Cape Town City FC
