PSL : MEC Panyaza Lesufi officially confirms the return of Swallows to the PSL

The Ipelegeng Community Centre,White City Jabavu, was packed to its fullest capacity which delayed the proceedings, as a result of technical changes that had to take place.

IMG-20160717-WA0011MEC Lesufi confirmed that all the remaining shares are now 100% South African owned,including the 8% minority shares.

“We held a meeting yesterday(saturday) with the minority shareholders that commenced at 16:00pm and finished at 19:00pm, and every shareholder decided to hand in their shares without exception” stated Lesufi.

“We also had a meeting with Moroka Swallows players on Monday to discuss the plans and future of the team”.

The MEC also confirmed that after several discussions, Moroka Swallows will be renamed to Swallows FC, ntil all the debts of the Moroka Swallows in the ABC Motsepe League are cleared out;

“it is important to start on a good footing, e will rename the team back to ‘Moroka Swallows’ once everything has been cleared out” emphasized the MEC.

He also confirmed that; ” The Dobsonville Stadium will remain the home of the new-look Swallows,with Ellis Park Stadium becoming the club’s alternative venue,and will be used for bigger fixtures.”

 “The new emblem, announcement of new players, new kit, the launch of the team, will be announced in due course, problably next week. Gone are those days where players who retired from other clubs think they can go to Swallows, we are going to hunt for quality players like Hungry Lions and I can tell you now,I’ve been receiving calls,and many Chairpersons in the PSL are offering players to us,they say ‘they don’t want Swallows to come back only to go back'”

The MEC also emphasized that the confirmation of their new team should be expected on Wednesday,subject to minor aspects as per PSL request,

“The PSL gave us 72-hours to tie down those aspects,which expired on Saturday, and we requested an extension which expires on Tuesday/Wednesday,from thereof will make a public announcement through the media.”

”  We have our first match is on the 23rd of August,therefore we have to do the Dirty Work quick enough as we are running against time.
