PSL : Manzini leaves Chippa United as Konqobe arrives
Chippa United have issued a statement in regards to Rhulani Manzini and the arrival of Ayabulela Konqobe at the club.
Chippa United announces the departure of the striker, Rhulani Manzini who is joining AmaZulu with immediate effect.
The Club would also like to welcome highly rated defender, Ayabulela Konqobe. The player will start training with Chippa United on Friday.
Executive Chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi paid tribute to Manzini and said, ” We would like to thank Rhulani for the contribution he has made to the growth of the Chippa United brand.
“Last season he scored 8 goals in 12 games and we will never forget that incredible hat trick against Supersport United in May that gave us a chance to survive.”
“We reached an agreement with AmaZulu over the services of the player. Manzini was pushed down the pecking order following the arrival of Moeketsi Sekola and with the likes of Mashego, Lerato Manzini, Mayambela and Lentjies the Club feels there is enough fire power up front.”
Rhulani has accepted the challenge at AmaZulu and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” he said.
Mpengesi also expressed his delight to finally welcome the 21-year-old Ayabulela Konqobe.
“I would like to welcome Konqobe to Chippa United Football Club.
In Konqobe we have no doubt we have signed one of the top young centre backs in the country and he will help us strengthen our defense. I would like to wish him all the best in the blue and white of Chippa United,” he said.
Konqobe has penned a three-year deal.
