PSL : John Comitis confirms Tinkler as new coach

The new owners of Mpumalanga Black Aces owner John Comitis confirmed that Eric Tinkler has been appointed as the club’s new head coach.


The appointment comes after their former Coach Muhsin Ertugral was announced as the New Orlando Pirates coach also on a three-year deal

In what many consider being a swap deal of coaches after both coaches went to each other former teams

Comitis has revealed that Tinkler will join the new Cape Town-based club on a three-year contract ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.

The appointment of Eric Tinkler follows right on the heels  Calvin Marlin who was one of the assistant coaches to Muhsin while at Aces committing to Aces in Cape Town

“Calvin will be relocating to Cape Town. He will be arriving in Cape Town early next week to be here for the arrival of the squad for pre-season. We are delighted to have such a professional on board with us. I have worked with Calvin before as a player at Ajax (Cape Town) and his work ethic and enthusiasm is a big plus for the club. “Our puzzle is slowly taking shape!!!” Comitis added.

Comitis statement on Eric Tinkler 

“I, John Comitis is happy to disclose and announce that the Head Coach of the new Club in Cape Town will be Eric Tinkler,”

“It is seldom that you find a South African Head Coach that has played at the highest level of Football in the EPL and in the Serie A League.

“But to add to that the has the highest level of qualification – UEFA Pro License.

“We have committed ourselves to a 3 year contract and we are positive that his experience coupled with his knowledge will assist us to build this Club from the ground up.

“His recent success in the African Cup are well documented and this bodes well with our future ambitions.
