PSL : “I’m relaxed no pressure” – Siphelele Ntshangase

After four years at Black Leopard, Siphelele Ntshangase joins Baroka FC and set the scene alight 

The promising player maker Siphelele Ntshangase has finally made his debut in the ABSA Premiership against Orlando Pirates.

Baroka FC’s new star Siphelele Ntshangase promises that his good showing on Tuesday night is nothing compared to what he wants to produce over the course of the season.

Ntshangase has been linked to various teams in the past seasons with the likes of Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns rumoured to have been interested in his services but it was Limpopo outfit Baroka FC that beat them all to capture his signature

Siphelele joins Baroka FC from fellow neighbours Black Leopard who are campaigning in NFD. It’s rumoured that Baroka FC paid around R 3 Million for his services as well he has signed a 2-year deal.

He was immediately given jersey number 10, the jersey that was made famous by Thabiso Kutumela who was the top goal scorer of the 2015/16 NFD season. Thabiso Kutumela has since joined Orlando Pirates

Although Baroka FC’s new star Siphelele Ntshangase didn’t train with the team on Monday prior to the Orlando Pirates game and was only registered on Tuesday morning with the PSL he made it to the bench and only came on in the second half but had a great game.

“I’m happy cause finally, my dream came true”

“I was relaxed, I had no pressure cause when I woke up on Tuesday Morning I was told they are going to register me so I was looking forward to playing”

The Bafana Bafana international produced some brilliant skills, runs off the ball and passes in his Baroka debut and combined well with Sipho “Sgobe” Moeti.


When asked about how he felt about the warm reception he received from the Baroka faithful when he came on he said

” I’m was confident and have confidence in myself so I was not scared”

Having not trained with the team prior to the game and reflecting on how he played the Maestro side

” The most important thing was that we win the game but unfortunately we couldn’t win it”

” For me to play against Orlando Pirates and show case my talent didn’t stress me”

“One thing that was on my mind yesterday was that I was now where I have always wanted to be. What is important in football is to raise your game.”

” I will take every game as it comes as this is just a start of my dream. I want people to watch me Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday”

“Everyone wanted to see me play and finally it happened”

” It was the first time I met my new teammates. Many people are impressed by my performance last night, just give me some time to get used to the guys [teammates] then you will see, there’s still more to come.”

“There are certain things that I wanted to do yesterday that I couldn’t do, but let me have few training sessions with my teammates then people will see.

” The is no much difference in terms of standards between NFD and the PSL, is just that the PSL is televised and NFD is not”

” It wasn’t easy moving from Black Leopard after spending four years with them but I have to move on with life”

“I spoke to the Black Leopard alot on Monday and what he said is that he gives me blessings. Like a father he is to me, staying with me so many years I have learned alot but I thank him for blessing me” he concluded

Black Leopard as well took time to wish the player marker well on his new journey

He couldn’t be drawn into confirming the other teams which were after his services

Baroka FC will have a tough in their next league encounter against Chippa United away at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on 12 September, Kickoff is at 19:30
