PSL : Doctor Khumalo joins Baroka FC as a Technical Director

Baroka FC has confirmed the social media speculations about Doctor Khumalo joining the Limpopo side as their Technical Director.

Mntungwa was revealed on Thursday at Professionalz Marketing & Management offices, ran and operated by Jazz Mahlakgane Bramely.

He began his speech by thanking the Kaizer Chiefs brand for giving him the rare opportunity to shine under their roof. He said he’s taking this opportunity under the blessing of the man whom he regards as his second father, Kaizer Motaung.

Khumalo said he took this opportunity because he felt it is time for new challenges in his life.

“I am doing this because I want to be something else ”

” I am doing this because I thought it was time to grow,” said the former Bafana Bafana midfielder.

He added that he is not coming to the game to prove a point or to become the next Bakgakga head coach

“Make no mistake, this has nothing to do with Benni (McCarthy) coaching Cape Town City or Eric Tinkler coaching Supersport United.”

” Baroka has a technical team and TD is the head coach” emphasized the 1995 Afcon winner.

Khumalo also highlighted that amongst the things he wants to archive with Baroka is to strengthen the development structures

“My role is also about digging talent as the technical director”

Bakgakga’s CEO Morgan Mammila looked to be ecstatic as he welcomed Khumalo to the team.

“He is now the kgoshi kgolo ya Limpopo (the great king of Limpopo). To us this is an achievement and he will help us grow as the team and I think we will also help him grow as he deserves to be in the national team” said Mammila.

He was not specific on the duration of this agreement, neither was Khumalo. He amplified the importance of acquiring an individual like the 16V calibre.

“We are going for more of the professionalism and somebody who knows the game, somebody who has been in the game for quite some time,” said Mammila

It is not for the first time Baroka hires a technical director. The Former Mpumalanga Black Aces man, Mark Harrison was hired to come and assist to save the ship which nearly hit an ice blog. However, Bakgakga seemed to be determined in starting the 2017/2018 edition with a high a note.
