PSL : “Defeat humble us”, Says Mosimane

Upon being awarded the Coach of the month for January and February 2016, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane offered some fascinating insights into his philosophies.

The former Bafana Bafana mentor currently sees his team enjoying a four point lead over Bidvest Wits at the top of the Absa Premiership table, his side also still competing in the Nedbank Cup and the CAF Champions League.

He claimed yet a back-to-back Absa Premiership Coach of the Month award after overseeing a faultless start to the second round of the league campaign since January 2016.

Speaking after the awards ceremony at the PSL Press Conference room in Johannesburg on Wednesday, Mosimane was his usual bubbly self, and offered some great quotes on the following subjects:

On the Sundowns fans:

“Sundowns supporters are singing, they have two songs about me. So I am happy. I bought their CD. Beautiful songs.

“The Sundowns supporters have thrown away the vuvuzela, they sing now at the stadium. It is such a pleasure to be part of.”

On his relationship with the media, supporters, and match officials:

“I have never seen a coach who wins against Media and Supporters. Show me one, even Mourinho couldn’t win against them.

“I have learned my lesson. I will never speak against any referee. I will never fight with anyone.”

On recent defeats to Bloemfontein Celtic and Zimbabwean team Chicken Inn:

“What keeps us going is what humbles us. You go five games without a loss and then you find a Chicken which humbles you.

“Bloemfontein Celtic scored three goals against us at home, that also humbled us.”
