PSL : Could Lewis Macha be the answer for Chiefs?
The former Junior Chipolopolo forward moves from Ferravario Maputo. The 24-year-old played for Zanaco before he went to Mozambique in 2013.
Macha started his soccer career in 2000. Lewis Macha like his elder brother Mathews Macha is an accomplished footballer too.
Lewis Macha played well first at Kalomo High School, afterwards Kalomo jetters got him in 2006 when he was in grade 9 from Livingstone Young Green Buffalos.
He was at jetters 3-4 years later joined Choma Eagles coached by late Mumba,then went to Nchanga Rangers Chingola and later signed for Zanaco Lusaka.
Macha was until now playing for ferroviaro de Maputo in Mozambique’s Macobola under the tutorage of Zambian legendary Coach Wedson Nyerenda .
Nyerenda himself a former Chiefs player is believed to have been an influential figure in this move.
The 24-year-old striker has been playing in Mozambique for Ferroviario de Maputo since the beginning 2015 season after joining from HCB Songo, where he was in double figures in the goals scored column last season.
Last season Macha was in double figures last season and was gunning for the top goal scorer award
Macha is yet to be a regular in the Chipolopolo squad but it’s believed the move to Kaizer Chiefs will enhance his chances of getting call up.
Macha will wear jersey number 19, the jersey was used by Bongani Ndulula who has since joined Chippa United and didn’t have much game time
The Young Striker will have to establish himself at Chiefs and cement his place in the first line up.Macha joins an elite list of Zambian Strikers to have players for Chiefs including Kilambe,Wedson Nyirenda and Collins Mbesuma.
