Orlando Pirates earned themselves three points as they beat Chippa United 2-0 on Tuesday night at Orlando Stadium. Goals from Makola and Myeni were enough to hand Orlando Pirates a most important win for the night.

The Buccaneers found their first on the 6th minute of game, when Mpho Makola connected with cross from Myeni and he blasted the net.   On the 21st minute Kermit Erasmus found himself inside the box but his shot went inches away from the far post.

Pirates continued to attack and dominate the match as Chippa were put on the back foot.   After enjoying dominance of the ball, they increased their goal tally on the 27th minute. When Thandani Ntshumayelo played cross and S’fiso Myeni made no mistake and scored.

The Chilli boys resumed the 2nd half with high anticipation, they showed more desire to score,   Thabo Matlaba nearly came close to scoring for Pirates in the 52 minute, but his shot missed the target.

Brighton Mhlongo was called to the rescue when a shot from range by Eric Chipeta went over the crossbar.   Mbongeni Mzimela pulled off a few brilliant saves to deny Erasmus throughout the match who failed to find the back of the net.   The arrival of Thabo Rakhale changed the pace of the game completely as Pirates pressed hard towards the Chippa box and if it was not for Mzimela many goals would have been scored.
