Pirates and Chiefs supporters not happy |
Two of South African football giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs expressed unhappiness with the two clubs performances in recent derby encounter. This was after the two clubs played to a 0-0 draw in front of satisfactory crowd in Nasrec at FNB stadium.
Supporters complained that this one of the reason that the stadiums will never be packed due to lack of entertaining football and poor results. They expressed that they travel from different provinces to come watch one of the biggest matches in the history of South African football but go back home with disbelief of the poor display.
Some fans even stated that they are going to start boycotting the game as they can’t waste time and their hard earned money on such a poor display of football. They feel cheated and want value for money.
Furthermore they stated that the Tshwane, Free State, KZN and Polokwane derbies are much better than the Soweto derby.
One supporter went on to state that the players are no longer fighting for the club crest and some players don’t deserve to wear the club jersey. Gone are the days of Jomo Sono, Patrick “Ace”Ntsoeleng , Tebogo “Mashwabana”Moloi, Doctor “16v” Khumalo, Thabo “Tsikitsiki”Mooki, Jerry “Legs of Thunder” Sikhosana, Mark “Predator” Williams , Steve “Chippa”Lekoelea, Jabu Mahlangu (Then Pule), Emmanuel “Scara”Ngobese, Benedict “Tso”Vilakazi, Brian “Spider” Baloyi and William “Safe Hands” Okpara who used to go into the field with intentions to give their all for their clubs.
