Mbombela United beat Amazulu 3 – 1 in a packed KaNyamazane Stadium
In a packed as always kaNyamazane stadium where Usuthu did show early treats when they slotted their goal as early as 15 minutes from the first whistle with a fine finish from Patel from a mishandling of keeper Thuto Xaba
With the lanky striker of Mame Niang who was a pain to the Mbombela defence, the home team managed to get an equalizing goal that at first looked like it was cleared but the assistant referee was on the line to see that it was too late for the Usuthu defence because the ball was already over the goal line, 1 all first 45 minutes.
The second half was very demanding to he home team where they were forced to make some changes on the field as they lost their anchor Bheki Maliba who sustained a head injury and he was rushed to hospital, Thabo Mphahleni took over.
Until pressure was a bit too much to the visitors, Robin Johannes was on the receiving end when he blocked a shot with his hands inside the box and the captain Victor Shongwe made no mistake from the spot and slotted it home.
After the second goal Amazulu wanted to pull one back very quickly, and they opened at the back to add the attacking and the forwards were all over Mbombela, tanks to the last line of defence where Mxolisi Mayongo didn’t allow anything go past him.
Just after the ref added 4 minutes, Mbombela united supporters were on their feet asking for the final whistle but The sub Phetolo Sekome confirmed the win with his only goal of the match to make it 3-1 in favour of the home team
