NFD : Highlands Park boost their promotion hopes

Highlands Park moved level on points with second placed Witbank Spurs following a 2-1 win over Santos at the Athlone Stadium on Friday afternoon.

The Peoples’ Team came into the match on the back of a 4-0 win over Cape Town All Stars and they were to make the perfect start against the Lions of the North, Santos drawing first blood when Suhayl Allie netted on four minutes.

But Highlands Park drew level midway through the opening stanza when Sandile Khwela found the back of the net.
