NFD : Cape Town All Stars and Ian Taylor part ways

NFD side Cape Town All Stars have parted ways with head coach Ian Taylor as well as the technical team.

Taylor, a former assistant to Roger De Sa at Ajax Cape Town, had taken charge of Igugu Lekapa’s fortunes at the beginning of December 2015, following the departure of Dan Malesela to Chippa United.

He began his tenure with a 1-1 derby draw against Vasco da Gama, before kicking off the new year in style with back-to-back wins over Witbank Spurs and Thanda Royal Zulu which took the Gugulethu-based club back into the top three.

But three consecutive defeats, including last week’s 4-0 thumping at the hands of Santos, left Stars in seventh position on the NFD standings and resulted in the club parting ways with Taylor, as well as his technical team.

“Cape Town All Stars Football Club have parted ways with head coach Ian Taylor, as well as the technical team of assistant coach Dylan Deane, and physiotherapist Haley Smith,” read a statement from the club.

“We thank them for their services and wish them all the best in their future careers. An announcement on the new head coach will be made as soon as the appointment is confirmed.”
