The beginning of the second half nearly saw Supersport United increase their lead after Khune came out of his area to clear a ball over the top but made a hash of his clearance, Grobler tried to loop a shot towards goal that Mathoho cleared away.
Parker rose well in the box to connect with the well whipped cross from Mphahlele, his header beat William’s but couldn’t beat post and the Supersport United defensive cleared their lines with Paez looking to tap in
Frustration started creeping into the game, both teams anchor man Furman and Williard Katsande had a go at each other. Furman tackled Katsande and the ref blew for a foul but the entire technical team of Kaizer Chiefs thought that the ref could have played advantage as their were attacking
On the 75th minutes Ekstein fired a shot from outside the box but like Shabba and Parker the post denied him, as his shot hit onto the crossbar.
Chiefs thought they had scored the equalizer in the dying minutes of the game but Joseph Molangonae was offside.
