MTN8 semi finalist Bidvest Wits will host new Cape Town club Cape Town city in the prestigious cup competition at Bidvest Stadium at 8pm tomorrow night.

The students have made two wins over the Soweto Giants in Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

They beat Amakhosi 2-1 in their PSL 2016/2017 start campaign of the season and four days later eliminated Orlando Pirates from the Wafa Wafa competition with the same margin.

Former Orlando Pirates Coach Eric Tinkler, Lehlonolo Majoro and Tshepo Gumede have formed a solid working partnership at Cape Town City

Its will be interesting to see how Mokeke who was signed on a swap deal with Modiba going to Supersport United will cope on the left hand side

The club under coach Gavin Hunt started where they left off last season after losing out on the league at the end of the season.

They look like contenders for the Premiership log and have their sight on the MTN8 trophy.

Cape Town City have conceded one goal and scoring three in two games while Bidvest Wits have conceded two scoring four

Newly Nelson Mandela Challenge winner with Bafana Bafana and Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo, who captained the side on their win over Egypt is looking forward to the match against the City.

The students attacker Gabadinho Mhango’s who is currently enjoying his football again after signing with Wits will be one to watch in tomorrow’s encounter along with the likes of Daine Klate, Elias Pelembe, Thabang Monare, Xola Mlambo, Mogakolodi Nqele, Cuthbeth Malatjila, just to mention a few will need to show up for the show if they are to get past the stubborn team coached by former Pirates coach Eric Tinkler who has assembled a quality side that will compete in this year’s league.

Students coach Gavin Hunt, is known of his winning mentality and he has installed this mentality at the new club. He won almost every cup in the league with his previous club SuperSport United.
