MDC : Three teams to battle for glory in the final soccer fist

Nike Football centre in Pimville in Soweto will be the place to be on Saturday, when the Multichoice
Diski Challenge reserve league conclude for the 2015/2016 season. MDC has contributed
enormously in supporting senior teams in the Premier Soccer league by giving game time to players
who hardly make it to the principal teams.
This reserve league was launched in August 2014 as part of additional means of elevating South
African soccer standards, mainly in the development division. The players did not disappoint as they
gave it their all, contending as if there is no tomorrow. Orlando Pirates players such as Menzi
Masuku and Luvuyo Memela are part of the players who exhibited their skills at the MDC, and were
later summoned to the senior team games. Masuku demonstrated why he was chosen to the senior
team when he scored a top notch goal on his debut.
Kaizer Chiefs exceptional defender Lorrenzo Gordino has also come through the MDC ranks and has
been magnificent in this 2015/2016 campaign.
All eyes will be at Nike centre when all the 16 teams conclude their fixtures. Golden Arrows are log
leaders with 31 points. There are no doubts that they are picturing themselves emerging victorious
after tomorrow. However Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City who are on 30 points can spoil
the planned occasion should Abafana bes’thende fail to collect maximum points.
Eight games will leave fans exhilarated, with a lot to talk about. Players are expected to roll up their
sleeves and give their best as they continue to with the struggle of impressing their senior mentors
to select them in the first teams.
