LaLiga : Samuel Umtiti has finalised his move from Barcelona to Lyon
Barcelona have signed French international defender Samuel Umtiti from Lyon on a five-year deal.
The 22-year-old joins in a £21m deal after signing a five-year contract with the Spanish champions.
Umtiti was named in France’s 23-man squad for Euro 2016 and featured in both the semi-final win over Germany and the defeat by Portugal in Sunday’s final in Paris
He received his first cap during the 5-2 quarter-final win over Iceland after Adil Rami was suspended for receiving two yellow cards.
Barca have slapped a £50m release clause on the centre-back as they hope to stave off any future interest in the Frenchman.
Umtiti will arrive in Barcelona on Thursday afternoon with a photo session planned outside the Club offices.
On Friday he will undergo a medical before signing his contract.
He will then be unveiled on the pitch at the Nou Camp in the afternoon, ahead of another planned photo session.
He will then appear in front of a press-conference inside the ground.
Umtiti made 170 appearances for Lyon in five seasons at the Ligue 1 club, and becomes Barca’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of Denis Suarez from Villarreal
