KaziFootball : Wrap up of Philly’s Games Day one

The first day of Philly’s Games produced fifteen goals in the opening four games

The first day fixture was as follows

Sidl’kotini vs Bayekhane FC at 10:00

Africa vs Klipfontein at 12:00

G-String vs Amablessers at 14:00

Gunner vs Siyabuswa United at 16:00

The first game saw Sidl’kotini take on Bayekhane FC

The game got off to a flyer and within the 28 minutes in the first half both teams were locked at one goal a piece

The first half ended with both sides still tight at 1-1

The second half was exciting with both sides come out with new attacking fire

Three goals were scored in quick succession and the score was Sidl’kotini lead 3-2 of Bayekhane

Bayekhane FC won a penalty with should have drawn them level but their number 15 missed the penalty

The missed penalty was the last chance for Bayekhane FC as the ref blew his whistle to end the game with Sidl’kotini winning it 3-2

The second game saw Africa take on Klipfontein United

Klipfontein United made their intentions clear when they took the lead in the first five minutes of the game with a scorcher of a goal

The game went to the break with Klipfontein leading by a sole goal

The second half both teams injected new life in the game to the excitement of the more than 3000 fans

Africa tried all they could to draw level but it wasn’t to be as the game ended 1-0 in favour of Klipfontein

At this stage the field was packed and were been entertained by Dances and others

G-String and Amablessers took to the field for the 3rd game of the day

The game was very exciting with both sides attacking each other from the flanks

Lack of composure and great goal keeping made sure that none of the teams scored the much needed goal that the game needed

The game went into the break with both sides locked at 0 – 0

The game dropped in tempo a bit but slowly both teams worked hard to up the tempo

Amablessers started to penetrate the G-String defence and it paid off when the scored the game first goal

The game ended with that score line of 1-0 in favour of Amablessers

The game of the day was between Gunners and Siyabuswa United

The game had all the ingredients of a great football game, it was filled with skills, goals and lots of chances

It was Gunners who showed their intentions of scoring but the Siyabuswa Keeper kept them out with a couple of 1vs1 chances

It was Siyabuswa United who drew first blood from a brilliant header

The goal seemed to have taken the wind out of Gunners wings as they lost a bit of tempo

That allowed Siyabuswa to grab their second goal to take the to 2-0 in the first 30 minutes of the game

Gunners attackers gradually got the team ticking again and they managed to reduce the score line to 2-1 just before the break

Gunners after the break showed why they are called Gunners as they attacked from all cylinder

The were awarded a penalty after the attacker number 7 was brought down in the box with only the keeper to beat

They made sure that they scored the penalty to make the 2-2 with only 10 minutes into the second half

Gunners went ahead with a great header after they won a corner to make it 3-2

The game had so much skills that almost the entire crowd standing on their feet

Siyabuswa also earned themselves a penalty but their captain missed it

At this stage Siyabuswa had Gunners against the ropes and they were cutting through their defence like a hot knife through butter

The quick one two’s from Siyabuswa were a problem for Gunners and it wasn’t a surprise when they grabbed the equaliser

The game ended 3 all

All the teams will rest tomorrow (17-November-2016)  and will meet again at the same Venue on sunday to take each other on in the second leg which will determine who goes through to the next round
