KaziFootball : Day 3 Wrap up of Philly’s Games
Philly’s games have been nothing short of exciting with skills on the field of play, excellent officiating and entertainment
The first four teams that goes into the last 16 round have been confirmed and they are Siyabuswa United, Amablessers, Klipfontein United and Sidl’kotini. It was a dramatic day as we also saw three red cards and penalty shootout the first of the Philly’s Game.
Siyabuswa United and Klipfontein United are new in the Philly’s Games tournament but they have shown that they are here to compete with the tried and tested teams.
Siyabuswa United should have won by an avalanche of goals but their many marks man shooting off the mark
Day 3 Fixture
10:00 Gunners vs Siyabuswa United
11:00 G-String vs Amablessers
14:00 Africa vs Klipfontein United
16:00 Sidl’kotini vs Bayekhane FC
The day kicked off with a match anticipated match between Gunners from Limpopo and Siyabuswa United from Mpumalanga. In the first the two sides gave a great performance and both scored three goals each.
The two sides never disappointed from the onset and gave it their all as one had to progress to the last 16 stage. Siyabuswa United seemed to have corrected their leaking defense from the first game and looked more solid as well they contained with easy the two speedy wingers Mpho Maketsa and Bororo Madisha of Gunnners
The game went into the break with both sides locked at 0 – 0. Siyabuswa United took the lead immediately in the second half to make the aggregate score 4-3 in their favour.
Nine minutes after taking the lead a moment of madness occurred when the Siyabuswa most dangerous player (number 11) slap an opponent in front of the assistant referee and he was given marching orders leaving his team to play the rest of the game with 10 man
Siyabuswa United quickly regrouped with one man down and could have scored a few more goals but poor shooting let them down. Gunners could have made it 1 -1 but Mpho was denied by the pole after unleashing a thunder bolt
The game ended with Siyabuswa United winning 1- 0 (4 -3 aggregate)
The second game of the match kicked off with Amablessers leading 1 -0 from the first leg. G-String had to fight tooth and nail to have a chance of progressing to the next round.
G-string won a penalty on the 23rd minutes and Up stepped Pat(Number 2) and he calmly slotted it home in the top left hand corner for G-String to take the lead and make the game 1-1 on aggregate. The game went into the break with G-String leading 1-0.
The second half started with Amablessers looking for the insurance goal but it was to be as Pat grabbed his brace after a well delivered free-kick, to make the aggregate 2 -1. In the dying moments of the game Pat should have grabbed a hat trick but he missed with the an open net at his disposal .
G-string went on to regret missing that third goal assurance as in the last seconds of the game Amablessers scored to make the score 2 -1 and 2 -2 on aggregate, taking the game into penalties. The first penalty shootout of the 2016 Philly’s games. G-String missed two penalties meanwhile Amablessers missed one to progress to the next stage wining 4 -3 on penalties.
The game between Africa and Klipfontein United produced a red for a player on the bench. The game started with Klipfontein United leading 2 -1 on aggregate. Klipfontein United got a free kick outside the box after the Africa Goal keeper was adjudged to have jumped is 18 yard box when he restarted play.
The results free kick took a deflection and went in to give Klipfontein the much needed lead and control of the game with an aggregate score of 3-1. Africa player got a red card from the bench for demonstrating with the match officials. Klipfontein doubled the lead and had that assurance goal making the aggregate 4 -1. Africa scored a consolidation goal to make the aggregate.
The much awaited match kicked off with the like of Lerato ” All you need is Love” Chabangu making an appearance. But is was also cause of the like of players by the nickname of “Pastor Mboro” and “Shake it up” that made people pack Amaseven in Ivory park. The game started with Sidl’khotini leading 3-2 on aggregate.
The game was filled with skills and flair that is famous with Kasi football with Mboro doing what he does best, blessing the opponents and the crowd with skills. Lerato Chabangu delivered his trade mark free kick after his side won a penalty but the keeper denied him
The match ended with Sidl’khotini winning 3-1 to make it 6-3 on aggregate.
