The last eight of the ANC Champ of Champ football tournament took place today.

The first game between Zola All Stars and Kenza Football Club (KFC) didn’t disappoint as it lived to expectations.

Jomo Cosmos Karabo “Shakes” Mkhabela  posed as a threat to All Stars every time he had the ball in his feet with showboating.

Polokwane City midfielder Linda Shibas penalty was enough to seal a win for All-Stars who went to win the game 4-3 to advance to the semi-final.

The second game saw Meadowlands Born Free beat a star-studded Senaone Gunners 1-0. Gunners who had the likes of Morgan Gould, Jabulani

Former Swallows and Orlando Pirates striker Sibusiso Mazibuko came in for Born Frees and showed the class and experience he has. The game ended 1-0 in favor of Born Frees to proceed to the semis.

The third match saw Ward 38 win the game 2-1. Lichaba could have equalized in the dying minutes of the game but failed to convert from point blank. Lichaba coached by former Platinum Stars star Thabiso Monareng were eliminated from the tournament.

The last game of the day saw Braamfischer Eagles defeat Black Poison 2-1 to occupy the last semi-final spot. Eagles were the first one to score before SuperSport midfielder Thuso Phala stunning free kick leveled matters. A late goal in the first half put Eagles 2-1 ahead. Tshepo “

All Stars have since pulled out of the tournament and their spot will be occupied by KFC.
