The 2016/2017 PSL season resumed last night with 3 encounters and the matches provided fans with thrilling goals. The Absa Premiership resumed after the AFCON tournament and festive season breaks.

BidVest Wits host Ajax Cape Town in Johannesburg at Milpark Stadium. The match didn’t disappoint as the home team easily walked over the Urban Warriors with a 5-0 margin. Phakamani Mahlambi and Gabadinho Mhango were on song as they gave brilliant performances and had their names on the score sheet.

Kaizer Chiefs started the second round were the left off before the festive break as they thumped visitors Free State Stars 3-1 at FNB stadium in Johannesburg. Former Zimbabwean captain Willian Katsande who returned to the side from the AFCON showed great character. The retired international player was on the score sheet alongside club veterans Simphiwe Tshabalala and Benard Parker. Former Orlando Pirates star defender Rooi Mahamutsa pulled one for the visitors and this was his first goal of the season since joining Ea Lla Koto.

Cape Town new club Cape Town City proved too much for PSL rookies Highlands Park as they dominated the match and registering 3 goal against the Lions of the North who are based in Johannesburg. Eric Tinkler’s side are a formidable side that are challenging for PSL Championship honors.
