Eqstra Soccer 6 Challenge Champs

Tharisa MCC eliminated Impala Warrios in the final to be crowned champions at Eqstra six a side soccer challenge was hosted at the Platinum city

More of mine employees participated in the games and also ladies team were present as well as local radio presenters of Mafisa FM.

This good initiative project that saw much of support and the atmosphere was significant, one of the official partners also Director of Raising The Bar, Busi Roberts elaborated further by saying

” Raising the bar, is a vehicle that organising companies coming together on board for funding specifically on sports development and corporate social investment to develop various communities through sports development projects , we partnered with different companies in bringing in EQstra soccer 6 challenge and those companies are EQstra, IXU, Umvuzo, refresher and Hytec just to name a few.”

” Companies participating here are using this for team building and talent identification for their workers, also we are appealing to different stakeholders to come on board as we will be happy reaching rural communities at large and it’s our wish and dream to have annual events of this nature nationwide for sports development” concludes Busi Roberts.

IXU is a clothing company that have been more into cricket and its an official technical sponsor of The Proteas batsman Faf Du Plessis who is also an ambassador of IXU.

“All participating team’s gathered here today are dressed by us (IXU) freely as part of giving back to the community as we have now manufacturing football attire and us being technical sponsor of this event its gives us exposure, also strengthening our marketing ” says Mr Heinrich Rix , CEO of  IXU.

Event had 16 team’s  all dressed by IXU.

Team’s were as far as from Mogalakwena in Limpopo, as well as Midrand in Gauteng.

Some players woke up around 2am enroute to Rustenburg just to play what they like and enjoy most football.

Here are comments of few players mostly played first games.

” My game was not that good because am not used to this six a side and its small pitch you can’t express yourself well but its good experience which I believe next game I will have to improve ”

” Eish we drew 1-1, my boys did play well though I think we should have won the game”

” I played well and it was against ladies team, we hammered and I won’t brag much about it but when we face men’s team hope it will be an interesting one and looking forward next game”

” As players we would like to thank organisers and their partners to make this event successful one and we wish to see more on this countrywide and by so doing we will have healthy sporting community” concludes one players
