Downs exit CAF Confed cup |

Southa African club Mamelodi Sundowns crashed out of the CAF Confederations Cup after losing 2-0 to Medeama in Ghana on Wednesday and were eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup. The Meadeama progressed through to the next round on a 3 all aggregate score and due an away goal advantage scored in the 1st leg.
Medeama took the lead during the first half when Downs defender Thabo Nthethe conceded a penalty which Malik Akowuah converted.
Dennis Onyango was shown marching orders midway through the second half for kicking Abbas Mohammed after Bernard Ofori had put the Ghanaians two goals ahead.
Mamelodi Sundowns had previously won the 1st leg 3-1 in South Africa and needed a draw to progress to the next stage or a 1-0 loss. The club had dropped from the CAF Champions league to CAF Confederations Cup after exit the Champions League.
The newly South African PSL champions will compete in next seasons Champions league and hope to redeem themselves.
